The National Coordinator of CMU met with Dr. Johar, Health Specialist, UNICEF and Malaria Advisor, to address strategies for the Malaria Epidemic Preparedness and Response Plan. The meeting emphasized strengthening healthcare infrastructure, preventive measures, and community awareness to tackle the growing malaria epidemic.
Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Health, and Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, Federal Secretary of the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, held a meeting today with Ms. Izaskun Gaviria, Senior Fund Portfolio Manager of the Global Fund. The meeting, held in Islamabad on 18th September 2024, focused on reviewing efforts to combat TB, Malaria, HIV/AIDS, with a particular emphasis on programmatic progress.
National Coordinator CMU chaired the Progress Review Meeting with Global Fund Country Team and CMU on AIDS, TB and Malaria Response. The meeting focused on reviewing progress in Pakistan’s response to AIDS, TB, and Malaria, highlighting programmatic achievements and discussing future strategies for improved health outcomes.
Meeting was held between Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, the Worthy Federal Secretary M/o NHSR&C and UNAIDS new posted Country Director for Pakistan & Afghanistan Mr. Trouble Chikoko. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Qasim Abbas NC-CMU and Dr. Rajwal Khan, Strategic Information Advisor for UNAIDS Pakistan. The chair expressed gratitude for UNAIDS’ vital role in supporting various HIV interventions and responses across the country and pledged ongoing support to UNAIDS in the continued fight against HIV.
Meeting was held between Mr. Mirza Nasir-ud-din Mashud, the Special Secretary M/o NHSR&C and UNAIDS new posted Country Director for Pakistan & Afghanistan Mr. Trouble Chikoko. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Rajwal Khan, Strategic Information Advisor for UNAIDS Pakistan. The chair acknowledged and appreciated UNAIDS’ crucial contributions to HIV interventions and responses nationwide, and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting UNAIDS in the ongoing battle against HIV.
