The Global Fund Country Team recently met with Secretary Health Sindh on January 10, 2024, focusing on their partnership to tackle malaria. Participants included Dr Qasim Abbas, DNC Malaria, Dr Hammad Habib, Advisor Malaria CMU, Dr Sohail Ahmad-Project Manager (Malaria) CMU, and Abdul Hamid, M&E/Surveillance Coordinator VBD DGHS Sindh. Abdul Hamid presented the current malaria situation in Sindh, expressing thanks for Global Fund’s support. The team acknowledged this collaboration’s significance, emphasizing their shared dedication to eliminating malaria in the region. On January 8th, 2024, Dr. Abdul Wali, DNC TB, chaired a pivotal Monthly Coordination Meeting between CMU, MC, and HISP. The meeting covered critical updates and decisions to enhance DHIS2 Case Based Tracker under BMGF grant. In a recent meeting, the National Coordinator CMU, Deputy National Coordinator TB, and Incharge M&E engaged with the M&E and Surveillance Unit on 5th January 2023. In a collaborative effort, the Common Management Unit and UNDP Pakistan organized a targeted training program for newly formed Community-Based Organizations’ (CBO) staff on the National HIV/AIDS Management Information System in both Lahore and Karachi, spanning from December 18th to 22nd, 2023.
